Excellent news! But Joe now really had to step aside:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/buffalo-airways-joe-steps-away-1.3379716

Joe McBryan, owner and president of Buffalo Airways and star of Ice Pilots NWT, has signed a letter agreeing to step away from the day-to-day operations of the airline, according to a consultant working to help the beleaguered company have its suspended air operator certificate reinstated.

If they’re gone for god, I suppose they’ll be replaced by a bunch of young guys with white shirts (with epaulets of course) flying Dash 8s. Boring. 🙂

in it’s early days 🙂

If you want a scheduled DC-3 flight Whakatane is a lot warmer than Buffalo!

The pilot that flew all of the drops in that dambuster re-enactment was named Artie.
They succeeded with the mission. He has since passed away.

Joe seemed to always butting heads with the officials of the CAA – maybe they tired of it and decided this action? Shame if they go out of business as their fleet is pretty unique…
