I am reading the book at the moment https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_Lover – no spoilers please :love-struck: but i wondered if the film does the book any justice and is worth getting.I find that quite often the book is alot better than the film which has time constraints and has to be more open for the public interest.
Any thoughts or memories of it being made? Ta

I preferred the Book strangely enough, The ending made more sense than the film.

Hadn’t realised that the film was based on a book – always enjoy the film.

I read the book first and much later saw the film and preferred the film!

Gee, I’m sure that never happens when translating a book to the screen. 😉

The book is very good, although some plot scenes are lifted from Bert Stiles’ Serenade to the Big Bird.
