I think you will find that this engine is quite a hybrid, like the Spitfire it was fitted to. IIRC, it has a Merlin III bottom end, possibly a Merlin 102 supercharger and wheel case, later type two piece cylinder banks, and by the looks of it, possibly no crankshaft. Ignore the BS story on the presentation plate.

I know that engine! More recently installed in a rather hybrid Spitfire LZ844, which I had a close inspection of at Kemble in 2011, and has been the subject of a previous thread here:
