Bentwaters Cold War Museum fund raising appeal for SEPECAT Jaguar XX741(Completed)

The BCWM hasn’t carried out any active external fundraising to restore XX741 beforehand, however the project has progressed to the point where further ground equipment is needed, preferably in the ownership of the museum so it is usable at any time. They are looking at acquiring a set of aircraft jacks with the specific trestles as used in RAF service for the Jag. Several examples have come available for commercial sale. The sets are likely to come to a cost of no more than £2000 with transportation costs. All the money that the museum raises will be spent on the purchase of jacks and more is raised, it will exclusively be spent on the Jaguar. Donations can be made directly via PayPal to xx741donations@bcwm.org.uk . Please also state in the remarks block, the word Jaguar. This will indicate the donation is purely for XX741. Many thanks in advance.

Thanks to all those that donated. The BCWM has received the jacks, just trying to find the time to assemble them and use them! The appeal is over.

Hi Al, no. I am still on the hunt for a GR1 hand controller and a pair of bungees as well as a few other things.

Hi Al, yes I got one from a friend in the UK. I have the GR3 mount as a spare if anyone ever needs one. It’s always the way that you buy something at great expense then find 10 really cheap ones soon after.

Got something for the left hand or some elastic on the way??

Hi Al, just made a small contribution, I couldn’t do more as I’m about to pay for shipping for something quite exciting for my Jag, will send you pics when it arrives.

Thanks Paul. I have been trawling through old forum posts recently as you can tell. Did you sort the mount for your pistol grip in the end mate? We brought one off a dealer at great expense.. Before being given one.. 🙁

Update.

With donations and a pledge from the 6 Squadron Association, the fundraising campaign is less that 300 pounds from reaching the target required to purchasing the set of jacks. We hope people on this forum would consider even a tiny donation to our efforts. Many thanks.
