Griffiss AFB, 416 BMW, either 1987 or 1988, MITO (Minimum Interval Take Off). My father was a gunner on the B52-G and retired MSgt in ’89. He filmed this off of Perimeter road over at the observation or (lookout) point. This is one of those awesome sites where we’re all grateful these were only exercises during the days of the cold war. Look for this video under user ASG15IAG on youtube to check out the comments. They make for an interesting read.

Impressive footage. A tanker per B52? Must’ve been heavy with something if they needed to tank after takeoff!

Very impressive, with real engines too. I bet that smoke is still lingering over the airfield even now :D.
But seriously as the caption says thank God it was only a peacetime exercise and not the real thing!
