Admirable restraint if you ask me – I’d have something stronger!

How did the C3 worry the pilot? Dogs worry sheep, was this something similar?

The original Aeronca C-2 G-ABHE belonged to Major Jack Parham. He forced landed at Four Marks, near Alton after the engine disintegrated on 16.7.36. Rebuilt as a glider, with a new cockpit mounted in front of the old firewall, it made its first hops at Bordon on 24.3.37. . .

He’ll be flying on Saturday. The JAP engine might take 7 days to rebuild!

Well done that man.
May he and the Aeronca fly again!

He said: “I was working away and I heard a big crash behind me. I turned around and there was a big propeller about 10ft behind me”
“It was a matter of milliseconds – but straight away managed to get it on ebay!”

That would be Flying for Fun, made in about 1987…?

And which featured in a delightful BBC documentary about it’s owner. The glider sequences were done with a large scale model but they fooled me but that’s not hard.

Must be trying to emulate one of its forebears, G-ABHE first Aeronca C2 on UK register which was apparently converted to a glider in 1936…..

Well done, but remember that a C-3 with the engine working is only a step or two above being non-powered!
