Yorkshire Airshow Saturday 26th

Thanks to the organisers of the show we had the best day for a long time, The display of the Vulcan & the P-51 Mustang plus the Spitfire & Hurricane we were real happy.

Especially since we saved £50 on the family ticket as you made it ticket only we would have been happy to pay on the gate.

Parked our bottoms at the end of the runway farmers field side the best seats in the field right over the flight path got some cracking shots and it was busy this side too.

Next time please sort out the entrance into the event the queeing of cars was crazy & of course ticket only made the problem worse cars dumped all over.

Still we enjoyed it.pp

I went down in my Jeep, displaying with the Yorkshire Military Vehicle Trust. I left home just before 7am, getting in at 10am, and only waited 45 mins getting past the queue to get to the main gate. I got out straight away, heading South and towards Selby, away from the rest of the traffic which went North to the A64.

It was a great show with a retro feel due to all the classic jets and very few modern aircraft; the Raven Display Team were probably the most modern aircraft flying. The crowd were looking East, so by the time flying started, the Sun was behind the crowd, giving some great light for pictures later in the afternoon. I hope it was a financial sucess for them and that the show returns next year.

Here’s just a few of the hundreds of pictures I took.

It was an excellent day, great displays in the air and on the ground,I will certainly be back next year, but as there’s going to be camping available I think I’ll make a very long weekend of it,great to see CF alive again, hope it has a great future ahead.yes the queues were large on the exit, took me three hours to get out of the crash gate, but it was a lovely evening, with a beautiful sunset on a historic field,I didn’t mind one bit.( if anything annoyed me it was the funfair the noise was ridiculous but maybe I’m getting old!)
