This weeks episode of Combat Dealers [M8 Greyhound] on Quest featured a fuselage in a barn with camouflage/RAF roundels and “from a ww2 plane”, the guy identifies as an Anson? [around 5 minutes in]
I didn’t think so…

Accept it for what it is and enjoy it – I do.
Agreed. It’s light entertainment with some good toys thrown in.

I watch it every week, and am amazed at what he finds. The chaps who do the restoration work do a damned good job, although it is a bit OTT at times. Just needs to keep his mouth shut at times.

Bruce reminds me of Uncle Albert off Only Fools and Horses, I can only take so much at a time, seen some nice relics on it I wouldn’t mind owning myself

If not taken too seriously then it’s not a bad programme. Just goes to show how much hardware is still out there from stuff being found in French farm barnes through to the Finnish forests.

I watched it this week for the first time, not from the beginning so missed the Fuselage, but saw the M8 bit, who the hell goes to by a bit of kit like that in a suit & tie !

I wonder if it is aimed at the US market? they would probably love it thinking all us Brits are like Bruce!
Cannot watch it, that Compton guy is a complete Richard Head and the bone head sidekick, oh my my my. It would be nice to see programs educating and dropping the ‘i’m funky and different’ characters to the fore.
Shed and Buried a far better presented. lots of staging of course but Combat Dealers is all stage.

Funny you say that Hampden98, I thought the same when I watched it. I think maybe quite a bit is staged, it is an interesting programme from the miltaria point of view but I find the acting a bit painful at times.
My wife hates it, she says it’s like me watching the Great British Bake Off with some very bad actors presenting it, she summed up that programme nicely – but I can see her point. Bruce just about gets away with it but the others are at times a little annoying.
It’s an interesting program. The one with the E-Boat and B24 were good uns.
They do `make some up` occasionally though like the rifle grenade destroying the van. I think they may have slipped some c4 in there somewhere 🙂

Canadian built Mk. V?
Used extensively by the RCAF in operations over Holland during WW2 (if you’re trying to sell it on, that is).
