There’s also the former MATS Connie, which is currently in the rather salty air of Jeju Island, in KAL colours. Not an ideal location for an aircraft that could easily be made airworthy. Hopefully it’ll at least find its way to the new museum and a future under cover. It would be nice if someone would rescue it and return it to the sky, where it belongs, and in return donate a non-flyable Connie to represent KAL’s early days in its place.

Larger types include a B-29 and (now sadly rare) C-124.

A bit of Googling shows the C-124 to be in OK external condition, I hope it goes inside! Always had a soft spot for that monster.

Around 2002 when I was night stopping in Seoul on way to SFO I visited a military museum that had a B52 sitting outside.I cannot remember where it was exactly but it did not take long to get there from Itaewon where I was staying. A lot of other aircraft there too.

Sounds impressive. Are there much in the way of historic aircraft already preserved in S. Korea?

As you might expect, they do have a fair-sized collection of aircraft from the Korean War.
