I’m working on a book regarding a fictitious RFC squadron during 1915 in the Second Battle of Ypres.
Does anyone happen to know the engine starting procedure for a Royal Aircraft Factory BE2c, that is, the procedure and what the rigger and pilot would shout as the aircraft was started.
Obviously ‘contact’ features somewhere but aside that I do not know.
Also, how many on average were there of each rank in a squadron? long shot maybe but I just felt like asking.
Regards
Chris

Sorry, not a direct contact, but enquiries@shuttleworth.org may be a start.

Thanks, that could be a very good idea, would you happen to know contact information for Mr Munn?

You could contact Jean Munn at the Shuttleworth Collection, they have had two BE’s operating there recently and I believe he flew one of them there, or WAHT who are operating them now
