Interesting that you should mention the Li-2.
The only airworthy example in Russia crashed at Myachkovo – the wreckage is just behind the Il-4 in my photo.
We were asked not to photograph it – which we respected.
There’s a nicely restored Li-2 in Victory Park, Moscow…….

Strictly speaking no but they certainly have similarities! The Lisunov Li-2 was the Soviet DC-3 and the Il-12 was developed to replace it but had engine problems and was superseded by the Il-14.
