Could anyone give me an idea for squadron codes for my Halifax series 4 special? Thanks

If it is a 161 squadron (special duties) Halifax it would be MA and either B Mk 11 (upto Dec 1942) or B Mk V later.
My father was a pilot in 161 in 1943 flying Halifaxes dropping arms and resistance personnel.

The SD units at the end of the war were using Mk.II series 1a – the unit codes FS were seen in Italy on 148 Sq, for example FS.B JP146. Note that these aircraft had the final variant of the exhausts. The SD units did also flew Mk.II Series 1 (Special)s and Mk.V series I (Special)s, and indeed Mk.V series Ia, with the appropriate variety of noses, exhausts and tails for the period. I think you need to be a bit more precise as to just what you want to make, and when it is intended to be.

Err, what is a series 4 special? You mean Mk II series Special or Mk V series Special?
