One for the Jet Provost Experts

Can one of our Jet Provost experts identify this Control Unit below the yellow arrow for me please, its fitted to a JP T.3, Its some sort of Transmitter/Receiver but its doesnt seem to make sense that its a V/UHF Crystal box, is it an early IFF. And sorry the image is a bit rubbish, it was taken with a phone.

Yes, Rebecca Mk 8. It is the IFF unit, and was fitted in most aircraft of the time. The box itself is just the control head, and is connected to the main unit by a 20 odd way Plessey connector at the rear.

If anyone has one, I need a complete set up, for use in a Vampire!

Thanks Bruce

It’s the REBBECA control box. Used in the Mk.3.

Can’t answer myself but if you post it on pprune military you will probably get an explanation as to how it works.
Plus the groans of what a nightmare the JP3 was.
Best
