The Wail. Great photos of the ATA, pity about the text.

I know it’s a link to the Daily Heil, but you can’t say I didn’t warn you in the title.

Some great photos (I’m sure there’s people here who can tell us much more), but some of the captions are way off. The linked article on messynessychic (!) is distinctly better written, and has even more photos – I particularly like the women in the Anson, obviously enjoying some down time.

I have to say that I did not realise that women flew Barracudas – given that they scared the **** out of the men…

Toe-curlingly embarrassing poppycock from the Mail again. Do they actually pay people to write such rubbish?

The logbooks and a lot of other material once belonging to ATA pilot Rosemary Rees (later Rosemary du Cros) have recently surfaced and are currently in my care. I shall be digitising it all as time allows and its owner wants it all eventually to go to a suitable permanent home.

A quick count shows some 76 aircraft types in the five logbooks. Incredible.
