I have been asked by Ray Deerness to ask the following question here, because he and fellow researcher Keith Morris have been having trouble finding the answers.
On the 18th April, a week before Anzac Day, the old Dominion Museum in Wellington opened its doors to the Great War Exhibition which will run until 2018. Among the fascinating collection of World War One relics, dioramas and displays was a complete full size Maurice-Farman MF.11bis replica of the Belgium Air Force.
Built by the Vintage Aviator Ltd, the tail serial number is 366 and it is believed to be fitted with a 70HP Renault which has been run.
It is in the markings of Lts, Fernard Jacquet and Louis Robin.
The Belgium Air Force machines appeared to be known as MF-130’s as a result of them being powered by a 130HP Renault.
Does anyone know of the serial ranges, units and fates of these machines?
