…but massive fires in Sask reported this morning: I’d imagine Coulsons’ phone has been busy today…

On hold awaiting sign-off of the trade of a C-130 to Coulson I understand

And it seems that all is not as it appears with this latest piece of news. Coulson have quoted the Government for use of the Mars, they do not yet have a contract in place.

One has been retired, I suspect it will not be put back into service. The other was never formally retired, it was simply that they haven’t received a contract for it for the last few fire seasons.

Great news, made my day today! Could never understand the early retirement decision made (prematurely).

Good news.

There are three fires not far from where I live and yesterday I saw a Skycrane flying over my home.
Went to a nearby small field today and say the Skycrane, a very nice Bell 205…actually a former UH-1H, a National Guard Blackhawk, and two turbine AG planes on amphib floats.
The DC-10 is operating in the area as well.
