Seafire 47 – VP441…

…to my knowledge has not flown in three or more years and is now firmly in the ‘Airworthy resting’ category.

This well worn you-tube clip surfaced again and I thought was well worth another airing. 🙂

The idea of the RNHF having a Seafire makes me very excited, even if I’ll likely never see it in action personally.

I remember first seeing photos of VP441 in Classic Wings, and thinking it was a stunning machine. The YouTube clip didn’t help with my “withdrawals”!!

Are the conra-rotating propellers the reason it sounds so different to other Griffon Spits?

Re- TFC’s Mk22, I hope so too Cees, really like griffon spits and seafires.
Think they should donate the Mk47 to the RNHF . ……… just a thought .

I always have a softspot for the late series spits/seafires. Is there a reason it hasn’t flown in years?
hopefully TFC’s Mk 22 will be restored eventually.

Quite an aircraft. It was a pleasure seeng it worked on at the Ezell’s facility.
I still remember the day when we got the video (and the shot you use as you avatar).
