Fighter in the clouds

This picture is doing the rounds, and the photographer has asked to share it around. Must say it looks like a Spitfire, but as it’s weather related maybe a Hurricane, Typhoon or Tempest:D

Picture by Gary Pescod, who’s got his main pages on FaceBook and Flickr. Just Google him – he says there’s no Photoshoppery involved, just in the right place at the right time.

Dihedral looks all wrong for a Typhoon. P-47 Thunderbolt tucking it’s undertrolley up?

Cracking image though..

Reminds me of the ‘Angel Cloud’ – formed by the flares from the Russian Knights Flankers as they spiraled upwards at the end of their display….

Nah, radiator’s in the wrong place.

Could be a Saro Cloud – or did that have a higher wing?!

With profuse apologies to Mr Pescod for adulterating his splendid image, that’s clearly a Typhoon!
