Wondering if anyone can help identify which Typhoon squadron this photo is of? Only information I have is that one of the groundcrew in the photo worked on Whirlwinds before progressing to Typhoons. Unless he changed squadron this would obviously narrow it down considerably! He was also awarded the France and Germany Star and was definitely based in France at one point. Not really much to go on in the photo itself unless someone
recognises other members of the group.

Thanks very much for the info, zorglub 🙂 Hadn’t heard of Squadron Leader Fokes so that made interesting though sad reading. Re the Whirlwinds, I can only assume that the gentleman concerned must have switched squadron at some point.
