I travel to Glasgow fairly frequently and I’ve regularly spotted from inside the terminal, in the seating near the retail area – at the top of the escalator in Arrivals – without any trouble whatsoever.

You can’t see all of the stands from there, but nothing can land or take-off without going past you. It’s ideal if it’s raining. 😉

Another excellent spot. I know the one you mean. The restaurant/bar (Garfunkel’s?) area next to the departures area is another good spot. The views are practically the same as mentioned above, but you can grab a front row seat and enjoy a slap-up meal whilst watching the action.

Thanks for the reccomendaion T5, makes me want to go even more! 😀

Excellent stuff. It’s so nice to have a change every so often. Even living a short ride away from the busiest airport on the country (Heathrow), its great to visit some of our smaller, regional airports. Although there are not as many movements, the traffic is certainly unbeatable. Forget all these foreign 747s you see in London, what about the amazing little island-hoppers and other props you see at airports like Glasgow.

michael wasnt the june trip the time you got stopped by the police lol anyone know how relaxed security for spotters is?

It was. They seemed a pleasant bunch though, telling us where we could stand and where we couldn’t. It actually turned out later that they had no right to stop us as we were allowed to be where we were (somebody said on the forum). Never mind… I’ll know for next time! 🙂
