That sounds more promising!

It has the spare wings from ex RNZAF Devon 1820 plus four 40′ containers of airframe and engine spares plus engines, props, tooling etc. The spar corrosion is localised in the port tank bay and is relatively light and more than likely recoverable. The syndicate has ground to a halt due deaths and creeping old age and the repairs are beyond the present members. The Dove was last used in the UK as an executive transport with British Aerospace before export to Australia and then on to NZ. Up to the time of withdrawal for the current maintenance inspection the aircraft has been flying regularly.

Richard – it would be far easier to buy a different Dove that isn’t suffering from corrosion . Regards this machine – it’s not massively historic – efforts in the U.K should be directed at getting at least one Dove MK.1 undercover .

Are spars or the material to make spars available for Dove/Devons. I realise the job of replacing a spar would be cripling if you could get the material or perhaps trying to find a set of good wings but I bet their like hens teeth.
Richard.
