Like some history on this image please (Canberra incident RAF Wyton)

I am sorting some old negatives and slides from decades ago, I took this picture, some research has revealed some info but not sure its correct, like to know a bit more about the incident which I believe the Pilot had engine problem / failure and retracted the gear as nearly at V1 but happy to be corrected, date would be 1981/2? possibly WH972 100sq CM Thanks !

I cannot add anything but to say that I drove past and see it laying there, unless there were two such incidents I seem to remember it laying the other side of the A141 from the runway, was this correct, or is my mind playing tricks?

Evening all

WH972 was a B.6 converted to a B.15 and then it was converted to an E.15, and used by 98 Sqn at one point. Sadly this is the one that (after repair from the above) came down short of the Runway at RAF Kinloss in June 1990 with fatalities

I’ve just read the history of RAF Wyton online and the closest i can get is a mention of an incident in which TT18 WK127 left the runway during landing and the pilot had to retract the ‘gear to avoid the control tower! Hope this helps!
