Against my better judgement, I’ve just saved several tons of aircraft wreckage from going to the scrapman in the morning. It was booked in first thing.
I have the remains of Hudson AM561 (2 engines, oleo, wheel with tyre etc), a corroded 5 blade propeller, 2 inline engines (believe 1 is a merlin), the other maybe German, a 3 blade propeller (in fair condition) + other sea recovered items.
All this stuff was disposed of earlier this week via Flambards and is now in my garden (safe).
All the above is what I know.
Can anybody help with information as to the i.d. and history of any of it?
Everything requires inhibiting.
I will put up photos later in the day.
This is the only thing I have found so far.

The wheel & tyre is not Hudson.
If its going to a good home, I only wish to recover a portion of the scrap value paid out.
Among the wreckage for the Hudson is an oleo leg with wheel and tyre (still pressurised) two engines in wreckage condition, small amount of airframe ranging from good to wreckage and a propeller (complete 3 blade with hub) but needs to be identified.
over to you.

Just a thought, we often get Canadian C130s flying through, perhaps one could stop and pick it up.
Formally RAF St Mawgan, now Newquay Airport.
My location is only 40′ from the boundary fence.

Spitfireman, do you have any plans to use any of the Hudson parts?
The Royal Canadian Air Force Museum at Trenton, Ontario, is rebuilding a Hudson Mk VI and if any of the parts you have are restorable to static display condition they would be interested.

I must take my hat off sir, for putting time and money into this. Many of us are powerless to prevent airframes being destroyed…
Not just the time and money but donating the space and risking the wrath of the boss.
Room to store/display things seems to be running out faster than money

Searching around today, found signage ‘Jumo 211d Heinkal III
‘That ties in with a sign liberated from the wreckage’
🙂 someone told me they had resigned it a few weeks after I told them

Denis, Perhaps that is the German engine you have?
Searching around today, found signage ‘Jumo 211d Heinkal III
Creaking door, The five-bladed propeller is from a Hawker Sea Fury.
One of the engines is definitely a Junkers Jumo (the one photographed on its own).
That ties in with a sign liberated from the wreckage
CC, I guess the German engines and the Sea Fury propeller were dredged-up off the seabed?
Everything apart from the turrets was dredged up.
Anon, Some nice stuff there. Did you get the heads-up this was going to be dumped or was it a lucky spot?
Have you got a museum to send it to or are you going to display it yourself?
Got a heads up the lorry was parked up over ‘Classic’ and it spiralled from there. The guys from Classic did a great job unloading the truck.
and no idea what I’m going to keep or pass on yet, I do need to recover the substantial sum of money forked out over the last 2 days.

If the council get bolshie tell them its a sculpture park :-)….well done!…is Flambards completely free of aviation now? I followed their Buccaneer up the A30 (in a very slow traffic queue) a few years ago

Good on you for saving it all. A big raspberry to Flambards for wanting to weigh it in.
