Anyone looking after or preserving a Viscount

Spotted these online but they are in Canada, just a heads up in case anyone’s interested. Never used the site before, I just came across them.

They have a Mk IV Blenheim as well, which was a surprise when I saw pictures of it. PIMA is on my bucketlist of things to do when I make it to the US.

You’ll enjoy it. Of course, it helps to have your museum across the fence from Davis-Monthan AFB and the DoD’s “boneyard”, which you can also tour. If you can, also stop by Wright-Patterson AFB, near Dayton, Ohio, to see the USAF Museum, and schedule to fly in/out via Washington, DC so you can stop by the Smithsonian’s Air and Space museum downtown and it’s Dulles Airport Udvar-Hazy museum annex out at Dulles. Quite a set of locations for an aviation enthusiast to visit.

The ex-TCA aircraft in Victoria, B.C. is housed inside a hangar. It is part of the collection of the local museum at YYJ. I toured it last year and was amazed how they had restored the interior and cockpit for viewing.

Thanks for the info. Glad to see that it is inside. I visited that museum in 2006 and the Viscount was outside along with a B-26 water bomber and I think a Beech 18. At that time the Museum of Flight in Seattle were trying to acquire the Viscount.

The museum has a nice selection of UK aircraft: 3 Harriers, a Hunter, Hurricane, JP, Gnat, Lightning, Vampire, the well-known Shackelton, and a Gannet which was a surprise.

Midland Air Museum at Coventry has just restored a 700 – might be of use to them. Duxford and East Fortune also have V700s; Brooklands has a V800.

There are at least 3 Viscounts preserved in Canada. Two are under cover at the CASM Ottawa and WCAM in Winnipeg. The 3rd Viscount is on Vancouver Island and I think, outside. They are all ex Air Canada/TCA aircraft.
