By chance my allottment (not a great year) is next to Boythorpe Cemetery Chesterfield. Recently a Commonwealth
War graves sign appeared, so I went to find them. There are four graves, one which is for Sergeant R Oldfield, air gunner died 3/3/43 aged 21. Does anyone have any information which might shed some light on this young man?

According to this link, Lancaster W4864 of 460 Sqn, crashed on a night navigation exercise.
