Sopwith, it is because very few have the means to buy an aircraft but far more can be involved in smaller items.

It always amazes me that far more people are willing to kick off about supposedly fake/suspect memorabilia etc, than about aircraft with fake/suspect history/provenance.
Any ides as to why this is ?.

Just watched the programme, credit to Graham Adlam and Ian Wilson for sharing their woes of how they were duped when buying aviation memorabilia presumably from eBay. Would be good if the particulars of the sellers of these items were disclosed so that they could be named and shamed and help avoid others being duped. Interesting programme, looks like fakes in aviation memorabilia is a growing industry and that people are prepared to go to elaborate lengths to deceive and generate money. Nice detective work on the log book Mr Saunders!

Yes, this was a repeat.
Filmed in 2012 when my hair was less grey and I had more of it.

One’s just got to look at the Christmas schedule to see how ‘green’ BBC TV is. The Corporation is into recycling in a big way! I’m sure that they are even showing a repeat of Henry Hall and his Dance Band from Ally Pally!

Pretty sure this was a repeat? First aired last year? (Just checked the iPlayer link – first shown May 2013 – Beeb must be getting short of decent repeats!)
Not getting short of decent repeats, run out of ideas/money/will (or any combination thereof) to create interesting new material is more like it.

It appears it was a repeat – I don’t generally watch this sort of TV, t’other half had it one when I got home!
Odd – you would think a consumer type programme would be classed in “current affairs”.
