Does anyone have any details on a Type16a (S.719/B) hand operated fuel priming pump manufactured by Self Priming Pump Company? Any assistance would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Tim

Dear All,
Following Beaufighter VI’s great assistance and the wonderful support of Max and Ritch Blood in magically fabricating a replacement lever rod I now have the basis of P.16a self priming pump for the Martinet project.

Many thanks to all who have assisted.

Tim, just a thought, is it worth contacting the local paper in Slough to see if you could find out more about the company’s fate? Only an idea…..

Thanks to Beaufighter VI considerable assistance we now have an image of the offending pump. Now if anyone has one of these lurking in a dark corner of a shed, or even components, I would love to hear from you.
Kind regards,
Tim

Detail of the P.16a can be found in AP2241 Vol. 1 Section 5, Chapter 2. Dismantling and pressure testing in AP2241 Vol. II, Part 3, Section 5.

It would appear to be the S.P.E Company(Self Priming Pump and Engineering Co) Slough, active between early 1930s and early 50s.
I have done a quick search but cannot find your specific item. (They made fuel pumps etc for ground handling vehicles , piston aircraft, helicopters and Jets.)
As mentioned a picture may help.
Regards Mike

I’ve never heard of it Tim. You really need a picture from somewhere if possible.

Apologies for ‘bumping’ this old thread but could anyone point me in the right direction to try and locate any details on the Self Priming Pump Company? I am assuming they are long gone?
Kind regards,
Tim
