This is a rare group photograph of sergeants and some officers and may help family historians of 218 Squadron members. It was donated by John Marsh, son of a survivor. Many of this squadron died at the end of May 1940 in the chaos of the Battle of France when this Fairy Battle bomber squadron and others were effectively wiped out trying to stop the German advance. Many of the ground crews are also believed to have perished in the retreat.
