Bader and his 222sqn Spit

Did Douglas Bader have a regular Spitfire when he was a flight commander on 222 Squadron ? If so what serial and code letters was it painted in ? There is a photo of Bader standing with two other pilots in front of a 222 sqn Spit, it has what appears to be a red stripe under the nose across the width of the oil tank, is this a flight marking ?
