Luftwaffe panel identification????

Hi All,

Just wondered if anybody had any ideas on the aircraft origin of these four panels I recently acquired from a collector in Germany. They came with no history but he seller believed they may have been of ME or HE. They are large sections (approx. 1m square) so I was happy to take a gamble and add them to my collection.

I have matched up one of the flathead screw fixings to a panel I have from a 109 but the other riveting and paint colour is new to me. All panels are of the same light olive green inside, with the outer panels seemingly very dark green. There are sections on the outer where the panel changes from dark green to bare aluminum from one panel to the next.

There is also a presence of a yellowy kind of aluminum which I have seem quite bit in German panels.

I can post closed pics of the riveting if it helps? For the life of me i cant find any inspection stamps or marking but I’ll keep looking!

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

The anodising would tend me towards a Junkers product. I can’t be specific though.

Hi All,

I have recently acquired some more large panels from this aircraft but I’m still no closer to positively identifying the aircraft. I have also asked for advice on some other forums I participate in but so far I have not been able to get any conclusive answers. I thought I would share some further pics if that. Helps any further.

The forged T section is stamped “Berlin 3125.5” with a symbol that appears to be cross hammers. I have also found one inspection stamp K598 (circled) but that’s about it.

It was my thought that they are wing or tail sections and have seen a similar riveting style on a JU88 wing section, and most panels have pieces of the typical Junkers anodised yellow aluminium. The riveting and fasteners compare with other Luftwaffe panels I have.

The upper surfaces are dark green and black and the lower surfaces appear to be pale blue. The interior colour is pale green. There are traces of red on what I believe to be the upper surfaces which I would think would be the “no step” markings.

As always, any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Darren
