It looks remarkably similar to a very battered piece I was trying to identify a couple of months back on the forum without success.

Hi Pete;

K9993 went to the Purfleet Heritage Centre. I remember us dealing with Richard Smith the curator. Still on display there I believe, but it’s been years since I visited. We had quite a bit of this aircraft, including a fair bit from the cockpit. The shell holes in the armour plate stick in my mind. I recall being told that P/O Assheton had no desire to be re-united with the remains of his aircraft.

Best regards;
Steve

Hi Steve

Probably just as well he didn’t…he would have seen just how lucky he was to bale out. Even I couldn’t get that engine running again!

No, it is the same component as the subject, another brush cover.

Many thanks.

This is the part I have been trying to identify from another wreck site.

The engine from that aircraft used to be on display at the Rebel Air Museum, I don’t know where it went.

It’s part of the generator. The brush cover to be specific.
