TFC restoration projects

Could anyone tell us if we are likely to see some of the TFC’s projects completed in the next decade? I refer to the Beaufighter and the Sea Fury FB11 both of which have resided in their hangar for over 20 years. There is also the Spitfire F.22, is this a goer or is it a trading asset for other purchases ? With the flury of Mark I’s taking to the air recently a 20 series Spit would be a fantastic contrast and help to tell the whole Spitfire story.

Yes Trev it has been discussed before but there is no problem with keeping the topic alive is there? The news on the Hercules engine is encouraging, I wonder if TFC have investigated this. You would think the Beau airframe could be adapted to accept the late series Hercules wouldn’t you ??. What are the massive differences ?. Any news on that Spit 22 ?

I’d personally like to see the Beaufighter fly but as has been said engines (Hercules) are hard to come by and the Beau is about the only aircraft not to have benefited from the ‘Midas touch ‘ of the RR Merlin, the few Merlin engined Beaus were less than impressive.

Pigs might be seen in the air before the Beaufighter, which has been discussed at length over the last few months/years:rolleyes:

I suspect that without engines the beaufighter will stay on the ground , but I too would love to know when and if for the sea fury FB11, spitfire 22 and the La-11 if they still have it .
From what I heard at duxford at the sept show , the CR-42 is doing well and fingers crossed we ‘ll see it fly next year.

I’d rather see the Fiat CR42 completed before yet another Spitfire or the Sea Fury
