Right at the beginning of the sixties, I knew Alun Rees for a short time. He taught us chemistry at a cramer’s in South Ken, Duff-Millers. Taught chemistry, well, how to make the most entertaining bangs and stinks.
Sadly at the time, I was too young and had no interest in either his wartime experiences or even the Lancaster.
But he did let slip once or twice how he had so often looked down on Dusseldorf from a great height.
A great guy, he comes to mind now and I wish I knew more about him. Can anyone help?
