Spitfire crashlanded in Italy,22 Nov.44

I found this story happened near to my land:

Crash-landed British Spitfire. 22 Nov. 1944, Fifth Army Loiano Area, Italy.
The pilot was Sgt. William Henry Bundock, Colchester, Essex, England.

Someone has more info about this plane crash ?
Thanks

Robert, very nice log book !
The site in Loiano (Bologna) where he landed is still the same and soon I will post a photo of that lucky field.
Your father is still with us ?
Thanks Stefano

Hi

Flight Sgt William Henry Bundock (Bill as he was known) was my father and so I’m quite amazed to find this thread and the photo!

Here is a link to his memoirs from that time, where he mentions the crash: http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ww2peopleswar/stories/55/a2773055.shtml

I will post photos from his log book later. My email address is robert_bundock@yahoo.co.uk – it would be great to hear from you directly.

Many thanks for taking an interest!

Best regards,

Robert

Which RAF documents correspond to the MACR of the USAF ?
Thanks.

Martin thanks for the link.
I knew this info and photo but on the American side, there are no records because
it was a RAF plane, so no MACR and no details of the crash!
