A visit to east Fortune to try out an idea that I had for photographing Concorde, which kind of worked.
PLEASE NOTE that the image quality has suffered slightly, the 1600 pixel originals seem to have produced artifacts when reduced to 1024 for this post.

The former Strathallan Tiger Moth has been given a new coat of paint and is expected to go on display at Chambers Street in Edinburgh along with the Ikarus

White balance was tricky in this hangar.
The Military hangar was closed for asbestos removal from the Lightning and Tornado, while the Civil hangar is undergoing a much needed refurbishment. The Beech 18 or the Dove will also be given a bit of a spruce up.

Interesting comparison to when it arrived following the Strathallan Collection Sale in 1981.

Good to see captions on some excellent photographs………. Find it a little frustrating when folk post photographs without captions, especially when they are aircraft I do not recognise.

A few more clicks will find you more than the verbatim CAA registration which indicates that Beagle’s as was purchased surplus Auster military airframes and reworked them.
Judging by your captions – maybe posting on Historic Aviation and knowing the past history of airframes indicates that you have more than a passing interest in trivia.

It’s not a Beagle built Auster ! Its a Auster built AOP.6 -bought back by Beagle and converted to A.61 Terrier 2 Standard . It isn’t appropriate in military markings as it deviates substancially from AOP.6 specification i.e no rear observer seat -modified instrument surround -floor mounted compass- modified flap brackets- incorrect rear glazing – larger rudder and smaller fin and the larger tailplanes !
As it stands it doesnt represent either well – it would be far better restored as a Terrier 2 in civil markings

Nice quality images Wallace. That final creation looks like the bird is thrashing about trying to get out of its cage ….or is it a tribute to Bananarama? 😉
