Anyone recognise this badge?

Found amongst a load of old junk at home. It is just under an inch across, and is pretty well made, and quite strong metal.

Sorry, not much to go on, but I reckon it may have an aviation connection, with the “wings” on it, and thought that some of the gurus on here may have seen something similar before.

To my mind that’s a fairly modern fixing.

My guess would be a promotional give-away from the French armed forces.

What’s at the back? Some kind of fixing?

Thanks for all the replies so far, that French one looks pretty similar.

As Ant suggested, looks like a version of these..

It looks very much like a French Air Force pilot’s brevet, although not quite identical in detail. How big is it? Perhaps it’s a veterans tie-pin or brooch?

Just a best guess…
