Helicopter museum update ongoing…….

Heritage Award ceremony today by the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE) for G-LYNX at the museum, the first award for a helicopter and only the 99th since the Awards were launched. The award was in recognition of the technical achievement in setting up the World Air Speed Record for Helicopters,which G-LYNX set up in 1986 and has never been broken. Some 80 IMechE members present plus representatives from AgustaWestland,including pilot Trevor Eggington who spoke about the technology behind the record bid.
