The BBMF Spitfires, Hurricanes and Chipmunks have had a collision avoidance system fitted.
This can be used to track them on the web. The Lancaster and Dakota will have it fitted in the Winter.

That’s a very rude thing to call a warbird pilot 😉

Surely you can track them by transponder, I believe they are Mode S equipped now

As I write I am tracking MK356. It has just displayed over Benson, then at some location in the countryside, overflown Brize Norton, flew past Enstone and is now headed north (ish). So, yes it does seem to work although the webpage sometimes takes a little time to update.

… one of the BBMF pilots confirmed that it wasn’t quite the actual route but near enough.
Still a usual tool though.

I followed a flight on Flightradar 24 and one of the BBMF pilots confirmed that it wasn’t quite the actual route but near enough.
Still a useful tool though.
