Ukraine Crash sites

Other than the very well known recent crash of MH 17 in which nearly 300 innocent people perished here in Ukraine which sadly I saw the following day I have been informed by a local military collector that he knows where a “Brtish Spitfire crashed not far from Kyiv” 90% of me thinks this could be true as the Russian Air Force did operate Spit’s as part of the Lend Lease program. Does anybody know if Spitfires operated near Kyiv? I seem to remember a Guards division did have them.

I am keen to investigate this site and any hints of what to look for would be welcome. I will keep you posted………
