Late Spitfire Spade Grips

Hi, just trying to ascertain whether the late Spitfires, the 22s and 24s ever used the D style of grip as per Sea Fury style, or whether they only ever had the circular style right up until the end.

Interesting, I have such a D grip – does anyone have any parts I can build up the rest of the column with please? I know that there are replica bits on ebay, but it would be nice to do it properly.

D grip just on the Mk 24, with the electric firing system.
