Stopped by the Canadian Air and Space Museum today to see the Hawker Typhoon on loan from the UK. This is my second visit to see it and I noticed one major difference in the display this time around. The museum has mounted a set of rockets and launch rails under the port wing. I can’t find any photographs of the Typhoon as displayed in the UK with either rockets or rails installed. Is this new? If so, where did they come from?
Out of interest… was this type of launch rail unique to the Typhoon or were they used with other aircraft as well? (Beaufighter? Mosquito? Hurricane?)

They were made by the team of volonteers at RAF Hendon, glad to see them fitted,.A lot of work went into making them.
The volunteers did a great job… they look to be exacting reproductions. It is nice to see them on the aircraft. The Typhoon looks bare without them.
