Hydraulic rams, do you recognise them?

I’m trying to id a couple of rams/pistons, they’re 68cm long and the only part numbers I can see are BPJ5179, Q418801 and TX9127. Does anyone have any ideas?

They look quite similar to the seat elevation ram I have from Boulton turret..

This type of actuator is known as an equal area or tail rod. They are normally associated with a system which permits a very precise position control, often with a hydraulic servo position control valve. Flying controls or gun turret I reckon.

They look very much like gun elevation rams as used in Boulton Paul turrets. If you have reason to suspect they originated from a Lincoln, then maybe there’s your answer – BP Type D rear turret? (I’ve checked and they do not appear to be rams for the Type C turret, as used in Aus on the Hudson.)

Going by this thread, forum member TEXANTOMCAT has the AP and may be able to check the details for you?

Its not undercarriage doors, as they are operated by a small link rod off the main landing gear legs.

I suspect they are from a Lincoln and am leaning towards something from a turret or maybe even undercarriage doors.
