Just had a look at the offerings of a Goodwood based FTO offering ownership shares in a Mk9 and a Mk 16. Their syndicate plan offers an average of just ten flight hours per annum per flying member.
I didn’t think that this amount would be sufficient to maintain a decent currency on this high performance fighter. What do other members think ?

My interpretation was that max annual hours on a Spit would be no more than 100 plus 5 hours for repositioning flights. The 100 hours would be divided between the syndicate members so, if there were ten, each would get a notional 10 hours – some members perhaps, flying slightly more, some less.
So, if your interpretation is correct someone requiring to fly a few more hours to reach what they consider is a reasonable level of currency would need to hire a two seat Spitfire plus instructor at the advertised rate of £5000 per hour?

From reading the documents on the website, it appears that any required currency flights would be conducted in one of the Academys two seaters. As they say planned annual utilisation is for between 75 and 100 hours for the airframe.
