Bottisham Airfield Museum OPEN DAY

Dear All,

I wanted to let you know about some exciting news from Bottisham Airfield Museum.

Firstly, a date for your diaries if you’re within travelling distance from Cambridge: our summer open day this year is Sunday 28th September.

http://www.bottishamairfieldmuseum.org.uk/images/2014-open-day-banner.jpg

Everyone’s very welcome to attend and if you have anything that you’re interested in exhibiting please do get in contact – we’re looking for any relevant military vehicles, cookpit sections, re-enactors or anything else with links to Bottisham, USAAF, 8th Airforce or the 361st Fighter Group – you get the idea!

Secondly (as you may have deduced from the banner above) after a couple of years without a permanent home, we have found a new home, in original airfield buildings, just outside Bottisham itself. These are very exciting times indeed for Camrbidgeshire’s Friendly Airfield Museum. More info about the new site and open day on our Website’s News page. A new website will be following soon.

Our new address is: The Old River Farm Smokery, Wilbraham Road, Cambridgeshire, CB25 9BU.

Click here for the location on Google Maps

If you’d like to get in contact, please do: info@bottishamairfieldmuseum.org.uk.

Many thanks

Simon Reeves

The new site is excellent news for a museum that has struggled for so long for a permanent home, and is easily the most fitting and historically appropriate location that it could possibly be.
Looking at my diary sadly I don’t think I’ll be available on the day this year, but I’m happy to help with clearing the site / preparing for the day in any way I can guys!

Rob

As above ,can help do bits and pieces, wielding a paintbrush etc
