On Sunday 20.07.2014 Gewerbepark Breisgau was celebrating their 20 th anniversary of converting military airfield Bremgarten to civilian use. MeierMotors had an Open Hangar Day, so I decided on Saturday to have a look at their facility. When I arrived there, it was raining.

Yes the P2 is 109 Gear. If you look at the camber of the wheels, you will see that the left gear on the P2 is the right gear on the 109. The wheel, brake, and strut are the same. the upper casting for the p2 is different. This pic taken just before we hung the engine on the current Planes of Fame P2.

If its G-BJAX I was under the impression it had donated its undercarriage a long time ago to the 109 fraternity.

I seem to remember reading that the P-2’s undercarriage originated from the Swiss ‘109s.

What’s the script with the Pilatus?
What I have read at MeierMotors homepage or their FB site (I am not sure which one) is, that they have primarily aquired the P 2 due to several parts were taken from the Swiss 109 Emils when they constructed the Pilatus. If they will use any parts on the Emil project, or if it is just for a template I do not know.

Thanks for the great photos, although this reminds me that it’s been ages since I’ve seen anything from Mattias Dorst. That was probably my favourite thread on the whole forum 🙁
Mine too! Very badly missed!

It was engined by an ASh 82 radial. Only info I do have is an old one, that the choice of the engine will be a surprise. That´s all I know, sorry.

Thanks for the info. A lot of very interesting projects over in Meier Motors at the moment. 4 109 projects, Sea Fury, G59 and FW190. 😀

Do you know if the FW190 is a radial or V engined example?

Stearman in the rain …
Weather improved later on, so passenger flights with the TF-51 were possible. Pilot was Marc Mathis, who did fine aerobatics, all passenger stepped out grinning from ear to ear…

I did not take pics of a Stearman project, a Malibu and a P-51 (in for maintenace), several cars and bikes (just mention a Jaguar E-type in primer). Though a large hangar, due to the number of projects space is not cramped, but I´d say confined. Some additional pics here:

I´d like to mention the very kind and friendly attitude of the Meier family, this will not be my last visit there for sure.
I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed the visit.

What Fw190 is that?
This is the ex-Jaquard Flugwerk one, that went into the Mediterranian Sea. It was bought by Hangar 10 as far as I know, but it is a long term project. Their G-6 and G-12 will be done first.
