Shackleton fin airfield memorial

I’ve seen some impressive memorials in my time – usually involving aircraft propellers as a centrepiece. But this one in Northern Ireland goes one better and has the complete fin from a Shackleton MR.3 on display. It’s in Christchurch church, Limavady.

Its a wonderful memorial. We have a single Shack tail fin in a box, you don’t realise just how huge they are until you’re stood at the side of one when the rest of the Shack isn’t attached.
