Identification required mystery door?

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone may be able to help me identify this mystery door i recently rediscovered in my garage. I have always assumed it is ex-RAF. I have checked the forums great part list with no joy. At first i had assumed it was Vampire and did not give it a second thought until know. It appears to have never been fitted and the construction has a 40s, 50s or early 60s look to it. I do not recognise the inspection stamp JCO or CJO depending on how it is read. Part numbers are a plenty with D186870-2 appearing many times and the hinges are prefixed A-187119-1 it is also marked CE879. Does anybody have any ideas??

Many thanks

Ollie

Many thanks Varsity and DaveR.

Following on from your posts i have just checked the illustrated parts catalogue for the Hunter and there it is in Book 2 – D.186870 – Flap, fairing, port group(with trimming allowance). Never thought it could be Hunter.

Mystery solved!

Looks a bit like the small door at the top of the hunter main leg undercarriage door sits near horizontal when open.

Those part numbers look hawker ish to me. I don’t have drawings after 164615/6, this particular one is P.1052 with sea fury and tempest just before.

This may supply some pointers..
