We spent a great afternoon at Stow Maries today. It was my first visit, and I was hugely impressed with what they’re achieving there. Today they held an event for Armed Forces Day, with support from local Cadet Groups. The Tiger Club were there in force, with a missing man formation overhead the flag raising performed by the Turbulent Team, and a wonderful solo aerobatic routine from a Stampe. And the icing on the cake, the pair of B.E.2es, which dodged the weather to fly across from Old Warden in the hands of Stu Goldspink and Jean Munn. The first time RAF-engined B.E.2s has been seen at Stow Maries for almost a century.
Come out and see them at Old Warden tomorrow!

Thanks SE5AFAN, Hmm, strange having 1950’s homebuilds at a WWI event. Is there a connection or were they simply available?

The Stampe pilot was Chris Jesson. The Turbulant Team were flying Druine Turbulents.
It was a great day especially the highlight of the Be2s

Superb photos. Did Gene de Marco fly the Stampe routine? he does a great display in his own Stampe here in NZ.
What is the Turbulent Team? I assume it’s not Druine Turbulents?
