Lancaster PB355 Worthing Beach Crash

Hello. Been a while since I was last on here – I’m currently gathering information on the 49 Squadron Lancaster, PB355, that developed mechanical failure over Worthing in West Sussex on 17th December 1944. It subsequently crashed on Worthing beach just west of the pier, exploding on impact and killing all seven crew. I now have all the details I need but would be keen to hear from any collectors who may have parts of the aircraft in their collection and to obtain photographs if anyone maybe able to help. All the information is being put into book format and should be available by September. All photographs would of course be acknowledged and can be sent to grahamlelliott@hotmail.co.uk

Many thanks in advance and kind regards,
Graham Lelliott

The publication is progressing well and now stands at 44 pages. Naturally it won’t be a very large publication but it is expected to be around the 55 page mark. Release and publication date should be on track for September 2014 with the designated ISBN being 978-0-9553893-6-8. Thanks to everyone who has made contact so far and has given information or support, I am most greatful. Graham Lelliott
