I’ve seen it specified that the 57mm Molins gun carried 22, 24 or 25 rounds. Which, if any, is correct? Unfortunately, my Sharp/Bowyer doesn’t list either “Molins” or “Tsetse” in the index, and I’m not sure who else to trust…

“The ammunition hopper held five ‘chargers’. Each of these ‘chargers’ had a ‘base guide’ and a ‘nose guide’, which could hold up to five rounds of 6pdr shells. The usual load was 5-4-5-4-5”.

You can add 23 rounds as well
The Molins Gun, which was technically known to the RAF as the “QF 6 pdr Class M Mark I with Auto Loader Mk III” was based on the long-barreled (50 calibre) gun. The gun weighed 487 kg (635 kg with autoloader) and was fully automatic, with a rate of fire of about 55 rounds-per-minute. The ammunition supply in the autoloader consisted of 21 rounds, held in five racks of unequal length, plus two additional rounds in the feedway.

FlyPast ran an article on the type circa 1984 from memory.
